This tournament is coming up shortly. The focus this year for the charity is helping children with cleft palates at the Jacksonville cleft palate clinic. I am registering tonight. There is individual competition as well as team divisions. These tournaments are good fun competition, helping a worthy cause, and a geart way to gain friendships, have fun, and expand your kayak fishing experience.  |

After talking to Nubby, I am working on getting to go. The major hurdle right now is getting the boss at home to see the great importance of participating in this event and sponsoring me!!!! Hopefully I will be able to convince her over the weekend. (I make it, she controls it!!!) well i miss this one. its my parents 50th wedding anniversary that weekend. and have big plans for them that weekend. all i ask is y'all be safe and have fun. and would please bring back a medium t-shirt for me

Well it appears that life is going to get in the way of fishing a tournament AGAIN!
I am going to have to use the days that I had scheduled for the IWD tourney to take Dylan to visit colleges that he's interested in.
I am seriously considering giving up on fishing all together, it's just not worth getting my hopes up and then having to continuously abandon the plans!
I don't mind using the days for something as important as college visits... it's some of the other crap that gets old!

Well it appears that life is going to get in the way of fishing a tournament AGAIN! Hang in there Mark, it only gets better. I planned on going this weekend, only to be told by the boss at home that I would be spending that time tearing out and re-planting shrubs in one of our landscape beds!!! At least the college trip will be worthwhile, with mine, I only created more work for myself!!! Wish you could have made it. asdf, hope you get registered. Give us a shout if you do, I think 3spots is already committed to fishing with a team, but the rest of us will be looking to fish together and make a showing!!! Not yet, I have also been invited to fish on a team With Team Hobie. I made this commitment before I knew that all of the guys were registering.....CGKF can still make a good showing in the Individual spots. Hopefully we can fish together while down there. Im looking to go down hopefully Wed-Sat!

C'mon guys, we could use some help. Anyone else interested in fishing the tournament, post up. The registration isn't so bad and we have a great place to stay with really good rates. I haven't fished this tournament before, but from everything that I have heard, it is really a good one, lot's of fun, great fishing in the fall, and what better company could you have than the CGKF gang!!!! Fishing with us is almost as good as having a professional guide. They put you on the water and put you on the fish. We can put you on the water, the rest is up to you!!! We get you half way there, how much more can you ask for!!!!

Only 3 weeks to go!!!!!!
The only thing I hate about getting excited about something like this is you get excited, anticipate the date, and it is over before you know it. I always figured that any special event is broken down to 20% anticipation, 20% enjoying it while you are doing it, and 60% cherishing the memories that were made while you were there!!! I plan to take a lot more photos this trip. We gonna have some fun!!! I have already contacted my guru about where the bull reds, gator trout, and doormat flounder are hanging out!!!!! Just haven't figured out yet which ones have my name on them!!!
Getting the itch and can't wait!!!
