Well, it was a great tournament, got to spend some time with old friends, Nubby, Threespots, and Troutman, as well as seeing some of our friends from Jacksonville. Dreads, it was great getting to see you again! We caught a few fish, and had a lot of fun. Thurs. the wind would push you back one paddle stroke for every two that you made, but we managed to catch a few fish while pre-fishing Oak Harbor. Friday, Nubby and I fished Mill Cove and managed to catch several decent fish. Nubby caught a 16"+ flounder, an 18" red, and his personal best, a stud of a 24.5" red that had the head and shoulders of a 30" fish!!! I picked up a small slam, if you count a pee-wee trout as part of it. Had a decent flounder, and an 18" red along with a bucket full of other smaller fish. We went back to the same spot on Sat. during the tournament and drew a goose egg. I had a good fish pulling drag that came unbuttoned at the boat, but this ain't horseshoes and it didn't count! Nubby and I managed to p/u a bunch of short fish, but nothing to carry back for the tournament. It was great to see my friends from CGKF and get to fish with them again. Nubby and I partnered up and got to spend a lot of good time together, fishing and enjoying good fellowship. Nubby took me to one of the best little seafood restaurants out near the beach that I have ever eaten at. That could have been the highlight of the trip in itself!!! We had a great time at the awards event. Got lucky and won a few things in the raffle. Congratulations to Threespots for taking home the second place award for his 20.2" flounder. CGKF was represented in the winner's circle one more time!!! Nubby with the Dames Point Bridge in the background at sunrise Redbeard's pre-launch photo Nubby ready to go Nubby going after them! PS: That last fish in Threespots post is a lizzard fish. Some thought it might be a snakehead. Check them out on Google, quite a difference!

Congratulations to 3spots So folks, please go fishing and post more of these strange fish :-) Agreed ! In Denmark we have now water temperatures round 10 degrees centigrade an airtemperatures round 12 centigrade ( that's approx. 50 -53 F ). Your pictures warmed up my heart as well as my mind ! Must be a gift to fish the whole year through under such beautiful conditions.
