Just seeing how many people would be interested in a 7/8" stake out pole. It has a hollow cavity (it floats), but is very tough, an eva foam grip handle, and a nylon foot (can be used as a push pole when in shallow water). The pole will be 6' long and will MSRP for $55-60. I now a manufacturer that is making them, they are hitting the market within the month and believe me, anything this company puts on the kayak fishing market is quality. If enough interest is generated I will order them for www.fishmyyak.com and have them available for you. Product pictures will be out by mid June. A stake out pole is an invaluable tool when fishing the inshore shallows for your favorite inshore species.

3spots,
Is 6' the only length or can it slightly very? If 6' is as long as it can be, then i guess i'm game. I need a SOP for the shallow areas because sometimes anchoring seems a little overkill. Also, is there a mounting bracket needed to attach to the kayak for the SOP or do you just tie it off the kayak manually?

I agree with the overkill issue of using an anchor in shallow water. The SOP's are more expensive, but easier to use. No special attachments should be needed. I use my kayaks paddle bungee and the front bungee to keep my SOP in place when paddling. I also attach a 3 or 4 foot lanyard that has a float and brass snap.

Like TM, I need a longer SOP... the 6' SOP that I have now works but I have found some situations that needed a 8' SOP because I don't like using my anchor if I don't need to.
