The second tournament for the Atlantic Division for the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour is in 2 weeks, June 5th. Several of us fished the Savannah event in March and had some fun. We'll have some tough competition from North Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina attending. The entry is $75 and you can pay an additional $25 for the angler advantage program.

Troutman and I fished hard during the tournament and caught a bunch of trout on topwater lures and DOA's. We mustered up our largest trout at 17 & 18 inches. Even though they didn't count we tossed in a couple bluefish and a flounder. I finally caught a 23" red and then proceeded to fall on an oyster rake after releasing him. The fall was funny, but not pretty. We got cleaned up and went to check-in. I ended up finishing 3rd. Back in Savannah I went and got my hand irrigated and stitched up..fun!  Here are some pics.... I have to admit that the CGKF embroidery work that Stitched Designs did on my cap and shirt looks awesome. It even caught the eye of a couple folks at the tournament check-in. Thanks Nubby! |
