Fish My Yak has padeyes, like Savreds said. I can pretty much guarantee that Fish My Yak will not deliver one padeye to make less than a $1. Email info@fishmyyak.com to work something out, they will even drill out the old one and install the new one for $10.

Since there havent been any replies in a while I'll just thread jack here and ask a question about pad eye installation. My kayak came with a broken pad eye but part of the deal in purchasing the yak was I was given the necessary pad eyes for the repair. The pad eyes were riveted to the yak so I am going back with rivets (also the loaction would be hard to get to to install nuts and bolts). I am just curious as the the size of the rivet gun I need. I went to lowes and noticed they had like three different sizes for rivet guns. Not sure about the size of the rivet that came with the kit. Thanks,

Most quality rivetguns come with interchangable tips to fit the different size rivets. Check out Home Depot. The better guns aren't exactly cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to rivet guns. The cheap ones will strip out on you! Redbeard I just got to Jax. Everybody else is out fishing. I am sure that some of the other guys will have some tips for you as well.

Spend your money on a good one that has the different sized tips. In my opinion, for what it's worth, a rivet gun is a must have item if you are a kayak fisherman due to "accessorizing". However I also know that some people freak out at the thought of drilling a hole in a yak and then putting a rivet in it. Kind of like a guy that I know that builds t-tops for a lot of the boats around this area. He's had surgeons that don't have a problem with opening up your skull and digging around in your brain, but are scared to replace a missing screw on their boat!

Thanks for the info, and I will definitely look for the ones with multiple tips. I think I have been a little cautious with my yak since it still has some "new" on it, but give it time that will wear off.
Thanks,

go look at harbor freight they have several types of rivet guns and one comes with 3 or 4 diffrent rivets and their not to hard on the wallet either. regardless of where you buy the gun, DO NOT USE THE RIVETS THAT COME WITH IT!!! Kayaks require the use of a special type of rivet designed to spread the load over a larger area than standard rivets.

3spots said, when you drill out the old/ broken padeye use the next size smaller than the rivet and break off the outside rivet flange and the rivet should fall out.
Most pad eye/kayak rivets are 3/16. I agree with earlier comments about the rivet gun, get a good one that has the three different tips for various size rivets. Don't use nothing, but aluminum rivets for your kayak.
Good luck!
