Most of y'all know that I'm the President of the board of directors of the Adaptive Fly Fishing Institute, Inc. www.adaptiveflyfishing.com. Our biggest project in 2011 is Hooked On America, which is a series of therapeutic adaptive fly fishing trips around the country for disabled veterans who were wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan during the Global War on Terror. We're putting this on film for a documentary on the role that therapeutic adaptive fly fishing and fly tying have played in their recovery and reintegration into civilian life after the military. Many of you are involved in a lot of tournaments, various kayak fishing businesses, and other events where it would very appropriate, even beneficial to your efforts, to have a charity benefit aspect. Some already do. But I would like to ask you to consider making AFFI, Inc. your charity of choice. You can even specify the funds go to Hooked On America if you like. Thank you.

Ken I cant speak for the group with out talking it over but with the growth of this site over the last couple months it seems to me we could try to do something over the summer/fall. First things First......We are still commited to a fund raisr for Robbie Lintons son.Robbie was killed on the job and was a fellow yaker from the Richmond Hill area. Our goal is to raise money to start a savings bond for him in his dads name. But meanwhile if there is anything I can do to help ya between work and the home front .....Please feel free to Pm me

Ken I second what troutman has said above. We will very surly be looking at that and see what can be done that way.

I understand prior obligations to local causes, friends, etc. This Robbie Linton thing sounds important. I appreciate any and all consideration and assistance.

Ken, AFFI is definitely a worthy cause and know that CGKF will be able to assist at some point.

Thanks, Trey. Even suggesting us to other tournament promoters, etc. is helpful. You never know what doors will open. It's all networking.
And I got to thinking that perhaps a new moon/full moon flood tide fly fishing only derby out of Coffee Bluff Marina might even be an idea. I have some serious options for prizes for winners.

Ken, that would be something cool. If I were you, I'd contact Ray at Coffee Bluff Marina and hash that out with him. His schedule this year is pretty packed, but he loves getting exciting things going.
