A mess of good eating!!!!
Gairishyaker, we used to be able to get this kind of jig tied with guinea feathers. They kind of looked like little bitty crappie in the water. Crappie inhaled them. Can't seem to find them any more. If you can get guinea feathers, you might want to try a few. I went on Google and typed in "guinea feathers" and found great prices on bags of guinea feathers. You want the body to be tied so that you are looking at the wide view of the feathers from the side, kind of like looking at the side of a little crappie. Try it, I guarantee you can't go wrong.
Good Luck!!!
Redbeard ;D
I typed this out and went back and looked at the photos again and saw that you are already using some guinea feathers. Try them in the natural black and white like the description above. It is a wide bodied jig from the side, kind of like the next to the last two photos, but with more guinea feather showing.

Nice jigs! If there is one thing that I can fired up about in a hurry it is a massive crappie slaying on the fly rod with a few fellas when things are "slow." That's when the crappie bite is best - when all the other fishin' is "slow." LOL
Frankly, I can catch a lot more crappie per/hour on an ultralight spinning rig, but I can catch my fair share on a fly rod too. It's not that hard once you find "the zone."
Depends on the water depth and current speed as to how you should fish micro-jigs. If I can get by with it on a lake or in other really slow water situations, I'm putting them under a strike indicator on a loooooooooonnnnnggg leader. (13-16' total length) I use adjustable indicators so that I can find the depth and then leave it there until the bite shifts or I decide to move. It's ideal if you have a little chop! That way you get jigging action courtesy of Mother Nature. If not, I'll twitch it ever so slightly now and then. But you gotta be ultra-ready when you twitch.
Without the indicator (wind is too heavy, currents are a problem, or you just hate bobbers no matter what someone calls them) I'd go to an intermediate line unless I had to get to 20'+ in still water or 10'+ in moving water. Then I'd go to a FS. And I would also let them sink through the strike zone and then retrieve them with short little 1" strips and an occasional pause. Vary the speed of retrieve until you get hit the same way 2-3 times. Then dial it in!
Man, I love me some good crappie fishin'! They're just about the only freshwater fish I keep and eat anymore. LOL But when I get on a school of crappie the carnivore comes out!

Just Curious, where do you get the jig-heads and materials from?
I want to get into making some of my own lures/jigs! May see if I can order a starter kind of kit offline or from BPS
