Anyone have any suggestions on what makes a good trolling motor battery? I know I need a 12v deep cycle marine battery but the brands i've looked at all seem fairly similar in specs. Has anyone had good luck with a particular brand? Or bad luck?

Not sure about a particular brand, but I would look for a deep cycle battery with at least a 100 amp hr. rating. Tractor Supply had a good one and the best price that I could find a while back when I was considering putting a trolling motor on my kayak. I backed away from the idea, not because I wouldn't like it, but mainly because I don't get to use it enough to worry about it. O'Neal Williams always said if a man is too busy to go fishing, he is just too busy!!! I spend too much time working and not near enough time fishing!!! Redbeard

Redbeard Thanks, I went with a 24 series Deep Cycle marine from O'Reilly's. I think it was $88. 105ah
