I am considering buying an older (12+ yrs) Ocean Scrambler 11 ft kayak that is located about 3 hrs away. Is anyone familiar with the older Scramblers and recommend them? I'm Supposed to drive to it next weekend for the sale and it's owner says it's in good condition. been garage kept and he's selling because getting into other watersports. I've seen a couple of pictures of it and it's a no-frills design but I'm looking at $250 and want a sit on top to fish the intercostal creeks and waterways out to little st simons island. Also to fish freshwater rivers and small lakes I go to.

It's absolutely a no frills kayaks, but it is a reliable based kayak that had quite a following 10 years ago.

I bought it and have been watching youtube videos to get ideas on outfitting it for fishing. so far, I want an anchor trolley, paddle keeper and anchor cleat. I'm going to have to learn more about fish finders because I think it's a must have.

Yes, I've had it out a few times and like it. It's stable and tracks ok to me. I like getting in and out of the sit on top much better than the small 9 ft recreational kayak I sold to buy it. Sorry for not getting back to read your question sooner.
