It appears that the city is up to it's political self serving issues again. Although I don't know the whole story, it seems like the City doesn't like to be held accountable for untimely and sub-standard work. CGKF and the stewards of Coffee Bluff Marina have always been on the same sheet of music when it came to getting the word of kayak fishing out to the masses and them supporting us by allowing seminars to be conducted there. CGKF will monitor this situation closely and will make a later determination as to where we go from here based on the impending outcome. savannahnow.com/news/2015-03-07/savannah-terminating-coffee-bluff-marina-operators-contract

The whole situation is pretty unfortunate. Hopefully everything gets resolved quickly and easily.

Sounds like Ray is getting screwed over. Hate to hear it, although I don't live there, I know that Coffee Bluff has been an important location for kayak fishermen and groups for a long while and we have had a friend in Ray Golden. Redbeard

I do not feel that this forum is any place to post anything about what has happen between Ray Golden and the City of Savannah, This is a matter that should be handle between the two parties and their attorneys. the posting that I have seen on here are all one sided.
When 3 spot posted it was to inform you of the seminars that were scheduled at Coffee Bluff Marina. You should see something in reference to those seminars soon.

My initial response was to inform CGKF members of substandard business practices that I have seen and experienced personally and as a CGKF representative. The substandard business practices that were performed needs to be voiced to inform members and other visiting this site. If CGKF collaborates with Coffee Bluff Marina, then these media broadcasted issues need to be worked out and the construction issues that do affect CGKF need to be addressed and corrected. This is not a political issue, it's an issue about CGKF choosing to or not choosing to collaborate with a particular business. Just because the City of Savannah owns the property doesn't make the whole issue political. Nothing stated thus far on this forum has been "out of bounds" on this issue. It does appear that some of the marina's issues has been given some attention since the Golden v. City of Savannah saga began. Hopefully CBM will continue to get things improved. I will make a determination at a later date as to whether CGKF seminars will be conducted at CBM in the future.

I know that the kayak ramp at CBM did not turn out as one had hope. I personally know it is being look at and a viable solution is being looked for. If anyone has any idea I am sure CBM will welcome their suggestions. In that matter if anyone would like they can contact myself and I will be sure it gets to the proper authories.

Is there a usable kayak launch there now? Someone told me a couple weeks ago that the spot that was suppose to be a kayak ramp is still a pos. They say at low tide it's all mud before you get to the water.
