I haven't put it to use but this reel is super lightweight and from what reviews say it's as durable as they come. First thing you see when picking it up are the sealed bearings inside the body. Quantum is the only one to use the new double lip on the spool for smoother casting and farther casts. It was a toss up between the shimano cI14+ or this. Only a 30 dollar difference but the quantum had sealed bearings both above and below the spool and the drag clicker is internal too. Testing it out tonight with a couple of members. Hopefully for this reels sake it's everything's it's supposed to be. Bull reds here we come

Its really light isn't it. I love it though. I'm going to outfit another rod with a spinfisher v. They are heavier but I believe they are sealed up tight.

Do you spray your reels with reel magic or any other protectant after saltwater use?

I use reel magic about once a month on my penn battles. They have been amazing reels, I also use something I get from the army that we use daily called clp cleaner lubricant and protectant. It works amazing and holds up for a good while. I have the spin fisher in the 5000 and love it but never use it, the smallest it comes in is the 4000 I believe or maybe a 3500. But it's more of an offshore reel for around here

I think the the one I'm talking about is a spinfisher v. It comes in a 3000. I liked the battles price but I bought two from bass pro and had to take both back because they made noises the first trip out.

Both of my battles have been amazing, they clean super quick and have been super reliable. For the spruce of the spinfisher you can get the quantum boca or the quantum cabo. The smoke, cabo and boca have interchangeable spools. You can turn a 40 into a 30 or have extra spools set up for different situations. I think that's the route I'm headed.
