So I have made quite a few friends down around mosquito lagoon area and I was thinking about setting up a camping trip on one of the canaveral islands in fall. It's 10 bucks to rent an island that can fit 40 people easily. I was thinking maybe we could talk to the space coast guys and set up a dual group meet and greet. Head down Friday and leave Sunday. Saturday we could spend trading techniques on the water and learn from our flats fishing brothers. The way I have it drawn in my head would be to have everyone fish with someone they don't know or have never fished with. Put the strong anglers with the weaker ones. Then Sunday we could do another mini tournament as a team. One redfish per team and one trout per team. We could even throw in snook as a target fish. But the teams would be drawn at random the night prior to launch. Trey, I have zero issues setting this up. I could run it by a couple of the space coast leadership to see if it sparks interest. If not we can just do a cgkf camping trip and invite them along. Who would be interested in this? A few of us that fish that place could give everyone the run down but I recommend YouTube to learn how to fish it. It's a whole other world of flats fishing that's for sure, water should be super clear and sight casting all day

I am going to the Boondoggle if I can get that weekend freed up. Why not just do something like this there? Not a tourney, but fishing together and sharing ideas. That's what the Boondoggle is all about. Not quite sure why the CGKF guys are anti-Boondoggle.

I don't think the CGKF are anti-boondoggle. Most have other commitments when the boondoggle rolls around. I love the boondoggles, but if a tournament or family event is during that time frame I'll pick them over the boondoggle. Just my 2 cents. I have to figure out how I can do the next boondoggle being that it is so close (time frame) to the IFA championship.

October is a rough month for the guys that fish the ifa due to the championship. I may go down there still for the boondoggle though. Who knows.... But my sons birthday is in October and I'll be moving so I might miss both. These are the reasons soo many are busy for the boondoggle. Lol
