the old debate baitcaster or a spinning reel

well was wondering which one does everyone like to use? i like to use a bait caster for live bait. but for the fake baits. i use a spinner. but when i fish fresh water. its all spinning reels. except when i use the fly rod. so what do yall like to use.

I use both for both...it dont make me any difference if its real or "FAKE" baits , I perfer Spinning but Baitcasters have their room in my YAK>

Throwing lighter baits necessitates the use of spinning tackle when fishing the shallow flats. Casting a weightless jerk bait or small jig is a job best suited for spinning gear. However, when casting heavy plugs, corks, or bottom rigs a round reel is better suited to the task.

I guess it depends on what kind of fishing you are doing. There's a place for each depending on the type of fishing you are doing. Chris said it as good as it can be said. When inshore yak fishing, I mainly stick with the spinners so I have two or three of the same combos that cover all my situational fishing. When boating fishing with live bait and popping corks I still like my baitcasters or when I'm throwing heavy baits. My surf equipment are spinners due to their castability, but baitcasters have a place because of their better drags.

LOL RB my granddad use to do just that. he would get a box of worms and either some crickets or meal worms and got to town on the bream. he would be catching 3 to or 1 sometimes.
