What: Low stress, high fun mini tournament.
When: April 26th, 2014 6:30am for briefing, launch at 7:00am, land no later than 2:00pm
Where: Tybee Island, Alley 3. The Meet N Greet will be at my casa on Wilmington Island starting at 3:00pm. Address information will be given that morning. Spouses welcome to the low country boil, $8 per person.
Cost: $10 for the tournament and $8 per person for Low Country Boil (paid prior to am launch). Winner gets ½ of the entries; the other ½ goes to Coastal Heroes On the Water.
Format: Catch-photo-release. You will be given a token prior to launch that must be visible in all of your fish pictures. You can use a camera with an SD card or your iPhone (bring your USB cord). Use whatever legal measuring device you have.
Fish will be scored by length. 3 fish total length. One must be a redfish and one must be a trout. Any flounder over 20” gets double points. **only redfish, trout, and flounder are measurable for the tournament**
Safety: You must wear a PFD (personal floatation device) while participating. You must follow USCG and CDNR regulations. You must have a valid GA fishing license with up to date SIP. If you do not go to the Meet N Greet, you must notify me or Keith (our numbers will be given out prior to launching).
Method of Fishing: Rod and reel only. No gaffing of fish. You may use artificial, live, or cut bait.
Prizes: Winner gets ½ entry fees, 2nd and 3rd place gets some items from Fish My Yak, Egret Baits, and Savannah Canoe & Kayak. We may even have some raffle items (raffle proceeds will go to Coastal Georgia Heroes On the Water).
Photos: This is meant to be fun. Fish hard, but take some crazy/ wildlife/ hero shots/ and scenery photos.

What is considered a legal measuring device and where could I get one?

For this tournament, anything that's correct and unaltered. You'll lay your fish nose at the zero mark and the tail at the upper number.
Pinched tails are okay.
Fish measuring devices are available at Bass Pro, West Marine, etc. a lot of guys use their Jacksonville Classic or IFA measuring devices and that's okay too. I may have an extra or two for someone to have.

I'm remaking my measuring jig so it's easier to use. Mine is 45 inches long and has the 321 fish ruler.

I mentioned that in the first thread about this tournament. We will need folks with trucks to yak pool so everyone will have a place to park and we pay less to the city of Tybee.

If im not in the field ill help. I have a Canyon with bed extender. I know I can take mine plus 1, but I think I could take 3 if we set them on their sides.

All attendees: don't forget to bring a lawn type chair for the eat n greet after the tournament at my house. Low country boil on the menu, $8 per person. I have to have a total number of folks attending and $$ the morning of the tournament. Thanks

im loaded and ready for tomorrows event. and my maiden voyage. are we still meeting at treys? i promise i will try and keep up this time its bad when a two men in a canoe pass you LOL. and im still a rookie at this saltwater kayaking and it is a whole different ball game than pond fishn.
