There will be a kayak fishing symposium Feb. 8th at the Go Fish Center in Perry, GA. Sharkattack and I will be attending representing Coastal Georgia Kayak Fishing (and for me Hobie fishing kayaks). This will be a great way to get what our coastal fishing has to offer out to the masses. Sharkattack has the experience and knowledge to relay the proper information. I'll be close by to guide him on. If he messes up he'll have to walk home. Lol It's about a 2 or 2 1/2 hour drive, but if any of you would like to check it out it should be a good time. Not sure what the cost is, if any.  |

Glad I'm on good shape, I'm just gonna prepare for the walk. Lol. But really sounds like a good time and great way to throw out what coastal georgia really has to offer on kayak gishing

Sooo, 3spots and I went to the georgia kayak fishing symposium today. To start this story off we will begin at our arrival to our hotel. I was given the task to reserve the hotel, so using military discount I found the new perry hotel which is a vintage hotel, well vintage was an understatement. For 63 bucks after discount we stayed in a hotel that may have been there in the American revolution. Yes I'm dramatizing a little but not much. So we walk into our vintage room that had this god aweful smell of god only knows. So we crack some jokes, grab a couple beers and get ready for bed. I later woke up with bubble guts and being super tired, fell asleep on the toilet. So after about 30 mins I go to bed. The next morning we head to the symposium. After showing up to the go fish education center which was amazing we start setting up shop. If ever there is another symposium in that building or anywhere for that matter I highly recommend going. Got to meet a few kayak pro staff from Jackson, native, wilderness systems amongst a couple others. We got escorted around the go fish aquarium of giant trout, bass, wallet, catfish, gar and tons of other fish that can be found in the georgia fresh waters. Then to the hatchery where we saw baby bass, lake sturgeon and some stripers. We got to talk to a couple people about what and how we fish down here. It was a great expierience to be given the chance to represent cgkf to a bunch of other top dog kayak enthusiasts. Only thing that sucked was following up Jeff suber with lost coast kayak fishing because that man is hilarious. I think we did well all in all, I will be posting pictures soon. I went the first year it was held. A lot of information was shared and the fish center is a great place to visit. Had to work this weekend or I would have been there. Good job guys!!
