CGKF Meet & Greet, Saturday September 25th at approximately 10am. The current schedule is to put in at Alley 3 (Tybee), paddle across to Little Tybee for a short seminar, fish the out going tide, load up and go eat at The Flying Fish.
I am watching the wind forecast and will make a determination by tomorrow (Friday) afternoon if we need to change locations. The alternate location will be Skidaway Narrows (also known as the Rodney J. Hall boat ramp or Butterbean Beach) on Diamond Causeway.
Please respond to this thread so I can get a better estimate of how many of you are attending.

I would bring all of the saltwater tackle that you have and at least a couple of rods each. If you have tons of saltwater tackle, then you might not want to bring all of it, but I'd at least bring some doa's, gulps and assorted soft plastics along with some jigheads and maybe some worm hooks. Make sure that you have an anchor at the very least and a stakeout pole would be nice if you have one.

So far, it looks like the launch site will be Alley 3 (Tybee). The weather forecast is calling for a SSW winds at 10mph, we should be good if that holds. I'll get another update this afternoon.
Bring a medium action inshore type rod, medium reel, 10-20 lb. line, DOA's, GULP products, popping cork, live bait (if you'd lilke), weighted worm hooks, other terminal tackle that you need, anchor and/ or stake out pole, sunscreen, water, snack, hat, cooler (if you plan on keeping fish). Of course your PFD, paddle, and kayak.
Bring a camera! At least we can document some fun, even if we don't do well on the fishing.

I have an anchor- Andrew has a stakeout pole on his yak (or at least I think he will get it on there in time!!) As for saltwater stuff - I have my own private stash I have collected - not sure if it is the right stuff or not - but I guess we will see!! LOL Lori

Don't worry if you don't have some of the right terminal tackle, others may have enough to share.

The conditions still look good for Alley 3 (Tybee). If the parking is full, you can still launch there and park your vehicle at the backriver pier parking.

WOW, I think the Meet and Greet went very well! Thanks to everyone that attended, hope you were able to learn a little something. We met up at Little Tybee, had a short seminar on leader material, tying knots, and working a DOA shrimp. We then fished the majority of the outgoing tide. I believe just about everyone hooked up with something (oysters, fish, and hopefully no fingers). We then headed to The Flying Fish for some eats, mmmmm it was good. The Flying Fish also posted our CGKF sticker on their fron door for all to see. I had a good time and had fun meeting and reuniting with folks! We will probably continue Meet & Greets on a quarterly basis. Here's a seminar pic: If you have any pics from today, post them please.

I have to say - we had the best time!!! And I think I have convinced hubby to take tomorrow off and hit the water again to put into practice what we learned!!!!
It was so awesome to put faces with names and I can't wait to get together again soon!!!
I learned so much - and I can't wait to show and tell what I know I will catch in the future with my new found wealth of knowledge!!!
And Nubby - I think hubby may be sending your way to stay for a while so I can hang out with you and your wife!!! LIL
