well i stopped by bass pro this evening to finish up some Christmas shopping. and i went and looked at the fish finders. and i asked the about the hb 581 hd di @ $299.99 and salesman said it has been discontinued. so now what do i get? they had the lowrance elite 4x on sale for $199.99 so which way do i go? do i get another hb or a lowrance. so what fish finder do you have on your kayak.

I have the lowrance 4X. Nothing grand, but it works for me.

I have the lowarance elite 4 dsi. I love it. A bit much for day to day fishing but it's really nice when fishing waters you don't know. Especially mosquito lagoon around all these islands. Lol trying not to get lost is much easier with a chart plotter

man i hate bass pros. was in there the night before and i looked at the FF. should have gotten it then. they must have had a few of them because they were sold out all ready. but thats ok i found it on the lowrance site for 10 bucks cheaper and still get the 50 bucks rebate.

i put on a lowrance elite 5 with gold maps. its awesome!

i almost went HB but was going to have to buy maps. i kinda thought that was BS. i cant be happier! just installed garmin gpsmap (#) on our charter boat this summer. for a boat is the better choice since its fully expandable to rader, xm, etc...

look at west marine too. seeems that they have been beating BP lately

i also found out from another bass pro employee. that the new fish finders are coming out for 2014. i think i will wait and see what changes are coming for 2014.

yeah be careful of that if youre wanting it sooner than later....they told me same thing....i waited and nothing. the new stuff came out late spring.
