Finally gonna add a Lowrance Elite 4X FF to my Hobie PA-14. I've been wanting one for a while now and finally made the purchase. Just have to get a few things to make the install sweet. Going to have it mounted to a YakAttack Mighty Mount and a 1" Screwball on a RAM adjustable base/holder. I'll post some pics when I install it.

I have a lowrance dsi on my barge. The GPS is nice but the dsi is pretty much useless in our shallow creeks.

Here's the pic of the transducer, left over wires, and battery bag. I'm using a 8 AA battery holder to see how we'll it does. Attachments:

The Lowrance depth finder worked great. I will have to play with it and do some adjustments to fine tune it for my uses.

Put the 5 DSI on my PA14. Love it. More detail and accuracy than I have ever had before.

I think I used closed cell foam. Cut the shape of the transducer out and glued the foam down. Next day, set the transducer in a bed of lexel and weighted it down until dry.

Looks good. I use a 12 volt feeder battery for my depth finders. One charge last all year. Weight doesn't amount to much. Just a couple of pounds.

Looks good. I just ordered a Lowrance elite 5dsi today and the scupper hole transducer mount. Should be in by Saturday.

Ive got the mark 4 on my tuna. A color screen would be nice, along with a little larger screen, but I like it. I use the GPS more than the fishfinder. What glue did you use? Im not to thrilled with the scupper mount from lowrance. I went with that because of limited places to mount the ducer in my hull, but like many new yaks, my scuppers are not round. It "fits", but isnt as sturdy as I would like. I am thinking of trying to hull mount mine...but I havent decided how yet. I like the foam around yours. Looks snug. I might have to get some goop and take a whack at it. The weather sucks for fishing now anyway, so Ill have time to let it sit. Attachments:

I cut out two pieces of closed cell foam, cut out the shape of the transducer, glued them together with Lexel and then glued the foam to the hull with the lexel. Put something heavy on it until dry. Used the lexel again for my glue bed in the foam for the transducer.
