I have been kicking around this idea for some time now.
Since the OK Prowler models don't have a footwell and cockpit designed to stand in comfortably. I have thought about an elevated seating platform. About 18" high, the standard height of a chair.
I started thinking last night about something that works with the flush mount rod holders, maybe out of PVC. Something foldable, or that I can swing into place.
I have decided on integrating it into the crate/tankwell and removing the crate altogether. Making templates out of cardboard I plan on making 2 identical sides. The sides of the crate/platform will be out of plywood. It will also act as a seat back when I am sitting in the normal position, allowing to remove the original seat.
Templates start tonight. I will post pics as this progresses.
The second idea is leveling out the footwell. The idea is to lay a plastic bag along the floor in the foot notches. Place a piece of plywood on top. And then use spray foam in a can to fill the voids in the footwell. Once it dries it should be a stable flat platform I can just lay on the floor; to stand on.
Again pics will follow haha.

Sounds like some interesting ideas, hope they work out for you. I would just save up and buy a kayak that would do those things for you, I'm not that savy on altering a yak that much. You may stumble onto something really cool. Good luck. ;D

This would affect your center of gravity height, which will increase your chance to roll as it affects stability. By all means try it out, but make sure you wear your PFD as I assume you are going to get some good re-entry practice.

I have stood in the yak before. The problem with the Prowler is the floor. It's not comfortable on the feet, and its not flat. So its extremely difficult to keep the boat from rocking and you are always shifting your feet around. I will be making a platform to stand on tonight. There is a nice shoulder along the sides of the yak that it can rest on. I don't need to do spray foam, I can just use a pool noodle in the cup holder to act like a "peg" to keep the platform from sliding around.

If a flat spot is what your looking for to stand, get yourself a quality cooler..... Small yeti or an Orca.... Put in your rear tankwell and use it to stand on. I'm looking at doing the same thing in my Pro angler

You had or do have a Prowler 15. I don't use the first few foot notches. So I plan on just covering them up. There is a flat recess above the foot notches, I think its used for mounting rudder pedals. Just going to lay a piece of wood right on that. And then test it in my neighbors pool haha.
