We've got some of the Carlisle straight shaft paddles and now a couple of the AT bent shafts.

I use a Carlisle. Do the bent shaft paddles make that much difference? My biggest complaint is that with the OK Big Game, which is a wide boat, I wish I had a longer paddle. I have a cheap paddle that my daughter bought at Walmart when I first got into yak fishing, nearly 10 years ago, that doesn't paddle as strong as the Carlisle, but is longer and more comfortable to paddle with. My biggest complaint is that with the OK Big Game, which is a wide boat, I wish I had a longer paddle. Redbeard Ricky, I feel the same way! I wish that I had about a 260cm paddle. With the width of the Big Game and the fact that you are sitting a little bit higher than most yaks or it least it feels that way to me, a longer paddle would mean a little less wrenching of the shoulder joints. I like my AT that I won at the 09 FCKA tourney but it' s only a 230cm paddle so it's a little less than I would consider ideal. |
