There's some awesome guys in the Jacksonville area that make a floating rod. Yep, a floating rod. The handle of the rod is comprised of material that enables the rod to float when accidents happen. The rod even floats with a reel attached (size limits apply). Don't donate your rig to Davy Jone's locker. Check these rods out and do away with the worries of your rod swimming away. www.overboardfishingrods.com/index.html

I put my Overboard Rod to the test Sun. and Mon. Caught 3 reds between 15" to 23" and several trout in the 17" range from it and it handled flawlessly. The Overboard Rod I'm using is a 7'6" medium light with the standard handle. I was able to flick light lures and jigheads effortlessly and was able to put some force into the fish I had on. This rod has a very good back bone. I'll have a couple more soon.

Cool! What's the price roughly? I really could have used that rod a couple months ago. That 7'6" ML sounds real nice. Don't they come in different colors?

I'll check on the colors. Pretty sure that they just come in red now. The prices for a medium or medium light 7' or 7 1/2' inshore rods are $109. Check out their website for a better list of rods and prices.

You can get yellow, red, black, or green grips for the Overboard rods.
I used the heck out of mine over the Thanksgiving holiday and was really impressed with the action, sensitivity, and strength of these rods.

Backlash4000 has been bitten by the Overboard Fishing Rod bug! He bought a couple when we were down in Florida last month and he loves the sensitivity and feel. Go get 'em Jeff!
