Good morning to everyone, and welcome to mid-August! There is less than 6 weeks left of Summer, and we're just 2 weeks away from the Georgia BullDawg opener! This Summer has certainly flown by..
Reconstruction Sale
As everyone by now knows, we are gearing up for the reconstruction of Coffee Bluff Marina, and as such, we are liquidating our inventory to keep from having to store anything during the shut down phase. All fishing tackle is already marked down 20%, but beginning this Friday, everything will be marked down 30%. That is 30% off all hooks, leader, terminal tackle, Bass Assasins, Gulps, floats, lead, sunglasses, pliers, knives, and anything else on the walls. In addition, we have some clearance items marked down 50%, and beginning Friday, all Ballyhoo and 5 pound boxes of cigar minnows will be marked down 40%. Ballyhoo is normally $9.99, and it will be marked down to $5.99. Cigar minnows are normally $18.99 for a 5 pound box, and they will be reduced to $10.99.
Fishing Reports
There has been some fantastic fishing lately, from tripletail to trout, redfish, flounder, black drum, jack crevalles, Spanish mackerel, and sailfish on topwater! Actually, we didn't land the sailfish, but he came after the towater bait and dump trucked it, screaming drag briefly before pulling off. To read all about it and other fishing reports, please check out our report page by following this link - coffeebluffmarina.net/current-fishing-reports/
3rd Annual Coffee Bluff Marina Fish Derby
Our year long derby started September 1st of last year, and ends in just over 2 weeks. Anglers have a full year to catch 10 species of fish...with 2 weeks to go, only 2 anglers have caught all 10 of the required species. 1 other angler has 9 and can secure the elite designation of 10 with a Spanish mackerel. For the next 2 weeks, anglers who have 10 will be trying to bump up their total weight to win this year's derby...who will be crowned the champion? Upcoming Seminars
We still have room for more anglers in the "Redfish in the Grass" Seminar scheduled for August 28th. Redfish have been cruising the grass prairies all Summer, and as we near Fall, it only gets better. September is full of seminars for those anglers wanting to learn a new way of fishing...for boaters, we have another "Redfish in the Grass" Seminar scheduled for September 16th and 30th, and a "Topwater Trout" Seminar scheduled for September 29th. For kayakers, we have a "Basic Introduction to Kayak Fishing" Seminar scheduled for September 8th, a "Topwater Trout from your Kayak" Seminar scheduled for September 15th, and a "Big Bull Red" Seminar from your kayaks scheduled for September 29th. Remember, all seating is limited, so call early to register.
That's it, then...see you on the water!
