Decided to pimp my Big Tuna (Kevin....Shut up!). I wanted to put on some of the most versatile rigging accessories that are on the market, naturally I chose YakAttack.
I wanted to install the new Park N Pole (SOP) clips because my SOP has a habit of falling in the water when I paddle due to the fact that I'm too lazy to bungee down every time. With the PNP clips, you just snap it in and it's snug.
I took my time and found a position that was easy for me to access the pole and re-secure it. Sitting in your kayak and figuring this out is best. The package comes with the instructions and they say to drill an 1/8th inch hole and screw the screw in, it's as simple as that. The screw is bigger than the hole created and creates a water tight snug connection.
I then began my install of 8" Gear Tracs on my forward gunnels. Line up your tracs where you want them. I mark the holes with a sharpie, then drill the pilot holes with the supplied drill bit. The screws are then screwed in, do not over tighten. I completed by installing another 8" trac on the exact opposite side.
I added a 1.5" Screw Ball to each trac for accessories. These screw balls slide onto the tracs by way of a t-bolt and then you tighten them down. The screw balls accept many of the YakAttack and RAM products.
I added a RAM rod holder to one side and then a DogBone camera mount to the other side by connecting to the screw ball.
Withiin seconds you can change items or move existing items to different configurations. I replaced the rod holder with a RAM tube and moved the angle of the camera mount, this only took seconds.
The Big Tuna just needs some slime on it.
