I like a 7 1/2' medium action rod with a fast action tip. I have different makes, BPS Inshore Extreme, Shimano Terramar, and Fenwick.

Maybe I need to get a Wang, my old pole just doesn't get the job done like it used to! Redbeard As far as what rods, Ugly Stick lite 7'6" hard to beat with my spinning gear. With my Ambassador reels, I like a 7'6" rod with plenty of backbone and a sensitive tip.

I mainly use my two Shimano Terramar rods 6 1/2' &7 1/2' med action fast tip and Backlash has two Fenwick rods that are about the same that he loves. To me one of the most important features in a yak rod is a fairly short handle so its not constantly sticking you in the stomach or ribs.
