Hey guys, I haven't been on the site for a while and just wanted to let you all know how much fun I had at the Classic. It was my first tournament, so I still have a lot to learn! Aside from the windy conditions for fishing, I was blown away by the quantity and QUALITY of the items in the raffles. There was a ton of really great stuff up there. Unfortunately, we can't all win custom rods like JerseyJoe! CGKF did have a pretty good showing though in the prize department. It was really great to finally meet a bunch of you that I hadn't had a chance to meet before. Looking forward to the next tournament and seeing y'all out on the water before then!

Reefdonkey why don't you come to the meet "n" greet on June 16. I know you will enjoy it. Bring others you think will enjoy also.

Glad you had a good time at the JKF Kayak Classic and sorry that I did not spend much time with you all.....with 500 people in the room, it was hard to find anyone...and you know how I love to mingle and chat....LOL!! Final tally that I saw was that $38,500 was raised for charity, which makes the total since 2005 at about $250,000.....pretty awesome!! I was absolutely stunned when I won that raffle and the Hobie Revolution 11....and I took her out on her maiden voyage yesterday and it sure was "different" since I was so used to my Tarpon 120 after about 700 trips on "Old Blue"!! Got her slimed with two flatties, a trout, and a sea robin (strange little thing!!) but mostly I just paddled and pedaled and fiddled around with the Mirage Drive, the rudder and other new stuff......I get to like it better once I get used to her!! Nubby.....having a "M&G".... I will try to "search" for it, or please pop me a PM wiith the link. I "might" be on my way to Charlotte and Burlington right about then, so that would be a nice stopover and maybe even fish with some of you??? Thx....JohnYaksJax

Nubby, I'm going to try and make the meet n greet, but can't commit to it just yet. My son made the Dixie Youth Sports Baseball All Star team, so the team will be practicing 6 days a week until the tournaments begin at the end of June. I'm coaching as well, so I will need to see how the schedule works out. I should know by the end of this month, though.

I would love to fish the Jax Classic next year but I believe I will be deployed. Crossing my fingers I will be here for it.
