what one you guys or gals like to wear? i need a new one since its been a long time that i have used the very old life jackets. been looking a a mess type one that would be kind of cool in this ga heat

Technically, any that are Coast Guard approved. I wear an Extrasport kayaking fishing vest, I think it's an "Osprey", runs about $75. The pockets on it come in handy. I bought it Bass Pro. They also have a more inexpensive model (BPS brand) that has a mesh top.
MTI makes a nice vest too.
Savreds and Backlash use the suspender type PFD's and they like their comfort.

I use the same as 3 spots and have enjoyed it. I think that they are all hot but you get use to it.

I have gone around and around with this issue... and I am happy to report after trying on tons and researching every kayaking PFD out there - my new Astral Camino PFD (in a very girlie purple) arrived this weekend.
For me it was really hard as uh, hmmm, my chest area had some, uhhhh special needs. (Squashing and paddling do not make for a fun trip!!)
Hubby tried on a non girlie colored one as well and he liked the way it fit too!

thanks guys and gals. i looked at one at the bps today. well ypaddle theirs nothing wrong with purple as long its not PINK. as for those other girlie issues i like those to lol
