For anyone that uses an anchor, I came across a neat little gadget for securing the anchor line to the ring on your anchor trolley. It is a Figure 9 carabiner made by NiteIze. I got mine at Home Depot for $4.94. It saves having to tie off your anchor line and makes adjusting the rode very simple. Also makes quick release from the anchor line a snap if you need to chase a big fish, just make sure that you keep a float (I use a slice off a big pool noodle) tied to the end of your anchor line in case you do need to do a quick release, so that you can retrieve it later. I just clip the carabiner to the ring on the anchor trolley. When I stow my gear after the trip, unhook it and hook it to the anchor ring for safe keeping. Not a huge thing, but very useful. Redbeard

It is made of aluminum with a stainless steel gate. I have used mine at the Forgotten Coast and Jax Classic tournaments with no problems, but that is no test compared to the use that you would put it through fishing salt regularly. But for pennies less than five bucks, it is worth a try. I like it because it makes securing the anchor line effortless and holds well. Like I said earlier, "ain't no big thing, just a neat little gadget!" Redbeard
