Once again, CGKF is working hand in hand with Coffee Bluff Marina to provide quality kayak fishing seminars to the community. Coffee Bluff Marina has been instrumental in helping CGKF advance kayak fishing in the area. Together, we are striving to provide informative, quality, and fun kayak fishing instruction for various types of fishing.

Here is seminar descriptions and dates:

Kayak Fishing 101 $40 per person
Instructional seminar for the basics of kayak fishing. Two hour land instruction on the kayak, equipment, safety, predators & prey. Two hour instruction on the water covering basic paddling, anchoring, positioning, and target recognition.

March 3rd 8:30am-12:30pm
September 8th 8:00am-12:00pm
November 10th 9:00am-1:00pm

Reds on the Flats $100 per person
Instructional mothership seminar consisting of target recognition, tackle/ lures, presentation of baits, stealth, and anchoring/ positioning.

April 21st 10:30am-3:30pm

Topwater Blowups $100 per person
Instructional mothership seminar consisting of lure selection, how to work the lure properly, lure presentation, tackle recommendations, and target recognition.

May 19th 6:00am-11:00am
September 15th 6:00am-11:00am

Running of the Bulls $100 per person
Instructional mothership seminar consisting of rigging, bait selections, bait presentation, and fighting/ landing the fish.

September 29th 2:00pm-7:00pm

Reds in the Grass $100 per person
Instructional mothership seminar consisting of lure selection, rigging, target recognition, lure presentation, sight casting, standing and sighting.

October 20th 9:00am-2:00pm

Seminars are subject to be cancelled and/ or re-scheduled by Coffee Bluff Marina/ CGKF personnel.

Seminars participation must be paid prior to the event day.

Bring your own kayak, PFD, and fishing gear. Coffee Bluff Marina will have these items for rent if you don't have them.

The mothership seminar prices cover the instruction/ guide, fuel costs, and boat drivers/ maintenance.

A raffle/ giveaway will be conducted at each seminar to give away sponsor issued items. A list of sponsors will be available shortly.

The May 19th 'Topwater Blowup' seminar will be conducted by another CGKF member, Rory Gregg.
Rory is a kayak fishing guide in the Jacksonville area, fishes for Team Hobie, is a Bomber Lure Prostaffer, and competes in kayak fishing tournaments. Rory will excite you with his knowledge, experience, and overall good nature.

In addition to the great knowledge that participants will be priviledged to during the seminars.....Coffee Bluff Marina is going to sweeten the deal. ;D

During our seminars and the seminars that Coffee Bluff Marina will do throughout the couse of the year, we will touch on the equipment (rod, reels, main line, leader, lures, terminal tackle, etc.) we use to catch the fish that we target.

** On seminar days Coffee Bluff Marina will offer 20% off rods, reels, braided line, tackle, etc.. If it's not currently in stock, you can pay for the item at the 20% off price and Coffee Bluff Marina will order the item and have it in, in about a week. Seems like I'm always out of the country for these darn things. The reds on the flats is really one I'd like to be at. I do look forward to catching the ones I am here for though!
