You've heard me talk about fishing kayak fishing tournaments before. Whether you are a seasoned kayak angler or just learning the sport and spots it is still a blast. The comraderie and family atmosphere of kayak fishing is amazing. Some of the tournaments are for worth while charities that you can support and not feel guilty for taking so many days off to fish because you are giving back to a substantial cause.

Here is a short list of tournaments (speak up if I've forgotten one):

IFA Kayak Tour:
Atlantic Region, Savannah, GA. March 24th Captains mtg. W/Kayak Event on March 25th, 2012

3spots is right on spot when he talks about the tournaments being a blast. Competition is fun, winning a prize every now and then is also a lot of fun, but the absolute best thing about fishing the tournaments is getting to see old friends and spending some time with them on the water. I look forward all year to the tournaments that I get to fish. I used to fish the Forgotten Coast tournament, until the date got changed to coincide with an event that I have to attend each year related to our business. The Jax Classic is the world's largest kayak fishing party, with lots of good friends that I only get to see there each year. And I fished the Irish Waterdogs for the first time this past fall and really enjoyed it.

Trey, thanks for posting the information. I hope that we will have several of our new members join us this year. Looking forward to it!!!

I am planning on fishing the Jax Classic and the IFA Savannah. We will have to see what others I can fish when time comes.
