Coming to St. Marys area this weekend kayak fishing... Looking on the map and trying to determine where to launch, here is my selection. Let me know if I need to make some changes.
- Crooked River State Park
- Woodbine Community Park - Satilla River
- Jekyll Island State Park
- North River City of St. Mary
Anything wrong with these sites? Please advise.

I'd launch off the north beach of Jekyll near the pier and paddle to one of the small creeks that go into the island. I haven't fished your other areas you mentioned but I have hears the tides are very strong down in that area.

I was looking at that area and didn't know how it would be. Is there a launch ramp, or would I have to carry my kayak to launch....

Usually the super high tides and negative tides will tell you how strong the tides will be in general. You'll find some places where water funnels out of an area that it will be really bad or you might find an area thats not too bad because of how the water is flowing in that specific area. I can't give you a definite answer to your question though.

I like to fish closer to the inlets and this time of year in the inlets and just outside of them. The big reds are cruising and hungry. Be careful though. Gourds inket is producing nice reds.
