I just found out I have two tendons on my rotator cuff completely severed and 4-5 ligaments with partial tears. Going to need plenty of fishing stories this year guys to help me get by. Let me heal up enough after surgery and I will try to get some flies tied up for ya'll. Know someone who would like some bendbacks that I will tie up first.

Sounds like a long winter full of watching fishing videos and cabin fever!!! Hopefully, your recovery will be swift and you will be back on the water quickly. How soon are the surgeons going to work their magic? Sounds crazy, but blink your eyes and it will all be behind you, time passes fast!!! Good luck and my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Hey, I just had a similar surgery on both ligaments in my shoulder with a labrum tear from 0900 all the way to the 0400 across the top. 8 anchors and about 30 stitches. I was back on the water in 2 weeks. Very sore and stiff but I was at least able to paddle. It's only been 4 weeks and I covered well over 10 miles in a day at sunbury. But I did my own physical therapy daily to stretch and strengthen everything back up. Best of luck on surgery and if they don't give you a shoulder ice machine to go home with you let me know. I have one you can borrow. Icing it is the key. Helped me heal soo much faster.

Get better soon. I know all too well about shoulder issues from the sins of my youth. I'm interested in the bend back flies.

Just giving an update. Three weeks after surgery I had an infection start to show up. Long story short, I had to go back in hospital for surgery again Friday a week ago and spent four miserable days there. I am home now but have to take antibiotics thru an IV and pic-line twice a day for 28 days. That pretty much eats up my day as it takes 7 hours to complete both sessions. Can't lift my arm up past chest high yet so tying flies will be put off just a little longer.

I went through exactly what your going through except it was with my left knee. Had knee surgery and 3 days after surgery found out I caught staff from the dang hospital it sucked. I think that's what started my issues with catching staff on a whim. I'm fighting a staff infection in my lung right now. It sucks. I hope you get well soon.
