Hey guys,
I just wanted to share some info on a great deal I just got on a new yak.
This one is for my wife / an extra for when friends and family visit.
I know there are a lot of new guys looking to get on the water with their first yak, and don't want to break the bank.
Black Creek Outfitters in Jacksonville is running a sale on Wilderness Systems Ride 115. Normally $869; it is currently on sale for $699.
You can choose the high or low sliding seat which looks really comfortable. I went with the low seat since my wife will not be fishing out of it, and anyone I put in it to fish will be a newbie; so I just think I'd take the added stability over the storage/higher vantage point.
I am not sure when the sale ends, but I think it is one heck of a deal. As of yesterday they have blue and sand in stock with more coming in next week.
I got an even better deal by getting the demo that they let you test out on their pond (not a scratch on it, like new).
This is the 2013 Ride 115(the Ride 135 is not on sale, it is still $969 but that still a pretty good deal).
Now, this is only an 11.5' yak. Some people may really want something more in the 12-14' range...but I do not think you will find a better, more stable, brand new yak at the $700 price point.
I just thought that if anyone was considering a $500 yak from bass Pro/Dicks/etc you might want to take a look at the Ride 115...for $200 more you are making a major leap in quality, comfort, and stability. The semi pontoon design with "secondary stabilization" in the hull design on the Rides has an excellent reputation.
Just wanted to pass along the info on what I thought was a great deal.
Check'em out.
