wow nice ties. ken are these for saltwater? those first two would be great for bass fishing. and they all look great.

These are tarpon toads. So, yes, they are saltwater flies. However, tarpon toads can be tied in smaller sizes for redfish and largemouth bass. Sometimes, they don't even have to be tied smaller for bass. It depends... A tarpon toad is usually tied on anywhere from a 1/0 to 3/0 hook. For bass, you'd want nothing larger than a 2/0 to be sure. Then it would be about the same size as a typical spinner bait head and skirt...perhaps just a tad larger. A 1/0 would be about the same size to the size of a smaller spinner bait.
For redfish, you want to tie them in size 1-4. But these get tricky to tie in size 4, and you'd be better served with a traditional Tarpon Toad pattern.
Toad style flies are meant to suspend very well, flutter and "breathe" when barely twitched, and generally stay in the strike zone...imitating crabs. They displace a lot of water and work extremely well on wary fish.
