I am brand-spanking new to this forum - I finally found you. I am an Atlantan and only get to the coast a couple times/year. This past weekend was my first time fishing in saltwater from a kayak. I have a little experience in salt water including flyfishing for bonefish, tarpon, permit, sierra mackerel but the kayak adds a dimension I am eager to learn. That said, I am part of a young freshwater kayak fishing site based in metro Atlanta. We have bass fishing tournies (including online) that y'all might want to know about. The club is called SKA and is located here: www.southernkayakanglers.proboards.com/index.cgiIt's probably not gonna happen where you could win our angler of the year with only one tourney to go, but you could still win a Coosa or a Cuda (we have good prizes). Drop in for a visit and tell 'em ElFuego sent ya. Now, I gotta get back to learning this forum's info!

Thanks Elfuego for the invite. I do have the SKA link on our main web page here: www.coastalgeorgiakayakfishing.com/I like the freshwater tournies, but am tapped out this year for tournaments. Would like to attempt at following the SKA series next season though.

I am here to stay, not just a fly-by. I want to learn to fish in salt and do it more often. Make some new friends. Just wanted to make sure you guys knew about this other group.

Welcome! I believe we met at a tourney last year on the Chatuge. It was my first freshwater tourney and first time catching a spotted bass. I was in a native ultimate and I believe you were in a yellow manta?

;D I realize that you have just recently join us. When you do come to the coast you may post on here and I am sure that some of our members would love to hook up and fish with you. Thanks for the invite to fish freshwater tour. I know nothing about freshwater fishing but would like to learn something.

Welcome! I believe we met at a tourney last year on the Chatuge. It was my first freshwater tourney and first time catching a spotted bass. I was in a native ultimate and I believe you were in a yellow manta? Your memory is much better than mine! Yes, I have a yellow MR14 and I am quite pleased with it. I just need to learn how to catch more fish out of it The SKA series has been a hit. I think there's an average of over 20 entrants at the tournaments. There's gonna be 2 Jackson boats awarded at the Chatuge tourney this year. One for angler of the year and one for the Chatuge winner. For me, winning isn't everything. Maybe that will change if I actually WIN sometime

I love flyfishing but fish a lot of conventional as well.
